BOXing match: mulch vs weed

weeds are a major issue for any planting system, as they tend to compete for light, water and nutrients. To suppress our weeds we used cardboard boxes weighed down with some rocks. These boxes will eventually be covered with straw mulch. On the sides of the boxes, another method of weed suppression is there. Buckwheat, not only suppresses weeds, also encourages pollinators to visit our simply sustainable farm.
